There’s a certain kind of quiet magic that happens when you decide it’s time.
Maybe it’s a story you’ve carried for years — a name, a memory, a small promise to yourself. Or maybe it’s something new calling to you: a fine-line flower, a protective figure, something symbolic that belongs to your body and nowhere else.
Whatever brought you here, welcome.
This is where your tattoo journey begins — with artist Ping Senesombath, inside Bodhi Joi Studio, a private tattoo studio tucked away in Hickory, North Carolina.
Step 1: The Door Opens
Four times a year, I open my booking form for a new cycle — January through March, April through June, and so on.
When the time comes, the door opens for 48 hours only.
That’s when people from all over send in their ideas — everything from delicate fine-line tattoos to deeply personal memorial pieces. Each submission is like a letter: stories, sketches, memories, and reference photos.
If you want to be the first to know when booking opens, join my email list or follow me on Instagram @tattoos.by.ping. I always announce openings and cancellations there first.
Step 2: The Conversation
When you fill out your form, speak from the heart.
Tell me what the tattoo means to you, where you’d like it placed, and what you’re imagining. Include a few photos if it helps me see what you see.
Each story I read helps me decide what to take on that season. I choose projects that align with my current creative flow — pieces that move me, that carry a kind of resonance.
It’s not first-come, first-served. It’s about connection, timing, and what we can create together.
Step 3: The Invitation
A few weeks after booking closes, I begin sending replies. If your story is chosen, you’ll receive a confirmation email — an invitation to step inside the studio for the next chapter.
You’ll be asked to place a $100 deposit within 72 hours to reserve your appointment. This deposit holds your design, your day, and your space in the creative calendar.
Because my time and energy are dedicated to each piece, deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. They honor the commitment we make to each other.
Step 4: Preparing for the Session
Once your spot is confirmed, I’ll guide you through everything — how to prepare, what to bring, and how to care for your skin before and after your session.
Appointments take place inside Bodhi Joi Studio at 1228 19th Street Lane NW, Hickory NC.
It’s a private, appointment-only space designed for calm, creativity, and care.
Most pieces start at $400, with hourly rates beginning at $200 per hour (weekdays) or $250 per hour (Saturdays) for larger, detailed work or cover-ups.
Step 5: Life Happens — and That’s Okay
If you need to reschedule, I allow one reschedule per year with 48 hours’ notice, so long as we keep communication open.
If you no-show or reschedule multiple times, your deposit will be forfeited, and we’ll simply reconnect in a future booking cycle when the time feels right again.
Step 6: The Day Arrives
On the day of your appointment, the studio is yours — soft light, music, the hum of the machine, the quiet presence of intention.
It’s not just about ink. It’s about transformation, storytelling, and trust.
Every mark is made with care. Every piece carries energy — yours and mine together.
Step 7: Aftercare & Legacy
When the tattoo is complete, I’ll walk you through aftercare and healing instructions. Your tattoo continues to evolve as your body does — becoming a permanent part of your story.
Many clients return season after season, building a visual language of symbols and memories. That’s how the Bodhi Joi community grows: through shared art, healing, and legacy.
Much Love,
